The author, Ellyn Weaver, of mixed Anglo and Native American ancestry, was born and raised in upstate New York near the Seneca/Iroquois reservation. Research into her mixed-racial ancestry brought to life characters telling stories unique to their time and geographical setting. We Walk in Footprints was born, nurtured as Ellyn matured. She now makes her home in the state of Colorado.
